Amazing Aspiring

The Amazing Aspiring scenic flight departs from the Wanaka Airport and flies over the mighty Clutha River and Lake Wanaka. Whilst en route to Mount Aspiring, you will fly over some of Lake Wanaka's spectacular little islands including Mou Waho island, which is a unique glacial remnant of the last ice age and is now a nature reserve in the middle of Lake Wanaka.

You will then make a 6000 ft Alpine landing which provides you with some marvellous photos and exceptional views of the surrounding Alps and Mount Aspiring itself.

Following your landing, you will then fly over the Aspiring flats and the Mount Aspiring National Park, past glaciers, down the Matukituki River, over Glendhu Bay, over tussock sheep grazing country, past Mount Roy and over the Wanaka township before returning back to the airport to complete your trip.
